News Brian Parks Play Goner Gets New Production, Jan. 5-28 Goner, the satiric comedy by Brian Parks, will get a new Gotham mounting Jan. 5-28, under the direction of the man who first staged it, John Clancy.

The show will star two of the actors who appeared in the 1999 premiere, David Calvitto and Leslie Farrell, as well as Bill Coelius, Patrick Federic, Jody Lambert, Matt Oberg and Jona Tuck.

The show is produced by Word Monger, a new nonprofit theatre company "dedicated to staging new American plays, for production both here and abroad."

Among Goner's features are a wounded President, an absent-minded chief surgeon and a couple of excitable FBI conspiracy theorists. According to a spokesman, the script has been much revised since its debut .

Parks and Clancy has previously collaborated on Americana Absurdum. Clancy, one of the founders of the New York International Theatre Festival, was also the artistic director of The Present Company, which first produced Goner. The play then traveled to the Edinburgh Theatre Festival in 2002.
