News Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laura Benanti Will Team for Gala Concert in 2013 Tony Award winners Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laura Benanti, who co-starred in Broadway's Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, will join forces next year for a gala concert at The Staller Center in Stony Brook, NY.

The 2013 gala, which is entitled A Broadway Evening with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laura Benanti, will be held March 2. The two actors will showcase Broadway favorites and standards. Benanti, most recently on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, won the Tony Award in 2008 for her performance in Gypsy. She has also been seen on Broadway in The Wedding Singer, In the Next Room, The Violet Hour, Nine, Into the Woods, Swing! and The Sound of Music. Benanti will be seen this fall in the new NBC comedy "Go On."

Brian Stokes Mitchell, most recently on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, earned a Tony nomination for his performance in the title role of Man of La Mancha. He won the 2000 Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance as Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me, Kate, and his other Broadway credits include lead roles in King Hedley II; Ragtime; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Jelly's Last Jam; Oh, Kay!; Mail; and the City Center Encores! mountings of Kismet, Do Re Mi and Carnival. Television audiences will be familiar with Mitchell's work from his roles on "Trapper John, M.D.," "Roots" and "Frasier." Mitchell was elected the 12th president of the Actors' Fund of America, and he has performed in concert halls and cabarets around the country.
