Penned specifically for Briers by playwright Samuel Adamson (All About My Mother, Southwark Fair), Some Kind of Bliss centers on "Rachel, a small-time hack and seeker of minor adventure, [who] sets off down the Thames Path to Greenwich to interview British pop legend Lulu for her tabloid's glossy supplement. But between London Bridge and Lulu's mirrored hallway lies a series of unpredicted and comic events," press notes state.
Toby Frow directs Some Kind of Bliss that runs through June 29 with an opening set for June 15.
Produced in New York by Adam Knight, the physical production is designed by Lucy Osborne, with lighting design by Stephen Holroyd and original composition and sound design by Richard Hammarton.
Briers' stage credits include Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Ship of Fools, Catch, The Voysey Inheritance, Cloud Nine and the forthcoming Michael Grandage-helmed Ivanov for the Donmar Warehouse.
