News Brinberg's Barbra Continues 'Gorgeous' Streisand Homage in NYC May 8 Hello gorgeous?

Hello gorgeous?

New Yorker Steven Brinberg's comic-drag-falsetto homage to Barbra Streisand, Simply Barbra, continues its latest incarnation, The Wedding Tour, 11 PM May 8 at Don't Tell Mama in Manhattan.

Brinberg/Barbra's special guest will be Patrick Boyd.

The club act, which was embraced in London last year, features the thirtysomething Brinberg wearing something tasteful (the promise of an Adrian design) singing "Evergreen," "Sadie, Sadie," "I Do! I Do!," "Funny Girl," "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," "Love is Only Love" (from the film of Hello, Dolly!) and "The Moo Cow" song from Gypsy, all in celebration of the singer's -- Streisand's -- nuptial bliss with James Brolin.

Arranger-pianist Christopher Denny accompanies Brinberg Saturdays in May and June 5. There is also a 7 PM June 1 performance. An album of Brinberg as Barbara was recorded in London and will be released later this year, produced by John Yap.

Brinberg began his homage/illusion in 1993 and various versions of the show have come and gone, often related the personal and career highs and lows of his favorite singer.

The actor-singer has been nominated for five MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Awards, and won the 1997 MAC Award for Outstanding Impersonation.

Shows are 11 PM at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th St. There is a $15 cover and two-drink minimum. Call (212) 757-0788.
