News Bristol Riverside Theatre's Ragtime Finds Its Coalhouse Walker Jr., Mother, Father, Sarah and More Initial casting has been announced for the Bristol Riverside Theatre's upcoming production of the Tony-winning musical Ragtime, which will play the Pennsylvania venue March 17-April 12.

Directed by Keith Baker, the cast will be led by Leslie Becker as Mother, Derrick Cobey as Coalhouse Walker Jr., Michael Thomas Holmes as Tateh, David Edwards as Father, Ciji Prosser as Sarah, Matt Leisy as Younger Brother and Chelsey Jean as Evelyn Nesbitt.

Ragtime has a Tony-winning book by Terrence McNally and a Tony-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

The musical, according to press notes, is a "powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America. It tells the extraordinary tale of three families as they confront America's timeless contradictions of freedom and prejudice, wealth and poverty, hope and despair, and what it means to be an American."
