Broadhollow Theatre on Long Island in New York is presenting Brian Friel's Tony Award-winning drama, Dancing at Lughnasa July 25-Aug. 10.
Dancing... is the story of five sisters living in 1930's Ballybeg, Ireland. The sisters are stirred to dreams of grandeur after experiencing the outside world through the first radio they have ever owned. Since its debut at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Dancing... has garnered several honors, including the Olivier Award, as well as the Tony and New York Drama Critic's Circle Awards for Best Play.
Other works by Brian Friel include such award-winning dramas as Molly Sweeney and Philadelphia, Here I Come.
Carol Prisamt directs an experienced regional cast which includes Heather A. Ashby, Don Curran, Tricia Curran, Vicki Klein, Mary Ellin Kurtz, Phillip Reese, Mary Ann Scafuri, and Anthony Scavone.
