News Broadway's Disaster! to Welcome Will Swenson The Tony nominee will play a limited engagement in the new musical.

Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Hair, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) will play a limited engagement in the new Broadway musical comedy Disaster! beginning April 29 at the Nederlander Theatre.

Swenson will assume the role of Tony Delvecchio for nine performances only through May 6. Due to a shooting schedule, Tony Award winner and 2016 Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Roger Bart will depart the production April 28 and will return to the role beginning May 7.

Disaster! co-writer and star Seth Rudetsky said in a statement, “When I was at Will and Audra McDonald's wedding, part of me was thinking, ‘He's so funny and handsome. Perfect for Audra!’ As well as, ‘He's so funny and handsome. Perfect to play Tony in Disaster!’”

Swenson returns to Broadway following his critically acclaimed run as Javert in the revival of Les Misérables.

Directed by Jack Plotnick with a book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and Grammy Award nominee Rudetsky and Plotnick, Disaster! stars Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler (Xanadu), three-time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family), Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal (Rent), Tony Award winner Faith Prince (Guys & Dolls), Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York (Victor/Victoria), three-time Emmy Award nominee and Grammy Award nominee Rudetsky (SiriusXM’s Seth’s Big Fat Broadway), four-time Drama Desk Award nominee and 2016 Drama League Award nominee Jennifer Simard (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Max Crumm (Grease), Baylee Littrell and Lacretta Nicole and ensemble members Paul Castree, Casey Garvin, Travis Kent, Alyse Alan Louis, Maggie McDowell, Olivia Phillip, Catherine Ricafort and Brandon Rubendall.
