Music from the new musical Amélie, which is currently playing a world-premiere engagement at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, is presented Oct. 12 as part of the Kaufman Center's Broadway Close Up: Bound for Broadway series.

The New York Post recently reported that producers Tara Smith and Aaron Harnick (who is attached to the CA premiere), along with Triptyck Studios and SBR Productions, are currently exploring potential theatres for a spring Broadway arrival for the musical that stars "Les Miz" film actress Samantha Barks in the title role.

Liz Callaway hosts the 7:30 PM Bound for Broadway concert. Here's a look at the lineup for the evening, which features songs from forthcoming musicals:

Amelie
Book by Tony nominee Craig Lucas (An American in Paris; The Light in the Piazza); Lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting); Music by Dan Messé (of the Brooklyn-based roots band Hem)
"This new musical is based on the Oscar-winning 2001 French film starring Audrey Tatou as a shy Parisian waitress with a wild imagination."

The More Things Change
Book & Lyrics by Kellen Blair; Music by Joe Kinosian
"Murder for Two writers Kinosian and Blair will introduce this backstage musical comedy about two middle-aged actors battling to set the record straight about their shaky romantic past."

LMNOP
Book & Lyrics by Scott Burkell; Music by Paul Loessel
"When letters begin to fall from a monument in town, government officials ban them one by one. Chaos ensues until a determined teenage girl rallies the community to fight for freedom of speech. This unique musical is part romance, part clever word game and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are; how quickly unbridled extremism can take them from us; and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe."

The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen
Book & Lyrics by Lezlie Wade; Music by Daniel Green
"Adapted from the children's book by the award-winning late writer Lloyd Alexander (best known for his 'Chronicles of Prydain' and 'The Black Cauldron' series), this musical takes place in ancient China and follows the magical journey of Prince Jen and his quest to save his kingdom from destruction."
