Both the 9:30 PM and midnight shows were sold out: In fact, all 5,902 available tickets were sold by June 19.

This year $172,284 was raised via the 261 people who participated in "Strip-A-Thon," an online competition that allowed fans to make contributions via BroadwayCares.org. Frankie James Grande raised the most of any single performer, $14,161. Others who brought in high figures include Steven Bratton ($9,685), Jennifer Cody ($7,210) and Holly Ann Butler ($4,560).

Peter Gregus, who created the role of Bob Crewe in the Tony-winning Jersey Boys, directed this year's fundraiser, which was produced by BC/EFA and executive-produced by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell.

The evening featured the work of 18 choreographers and 243 of the "sexiest male and female dancers from Broadway's biggest shows."

During the finale Nancy Mahon, the senior vice-president and executive director of The M•A•C AIDS Fund presented BC/EFA with a check for $125,000. Here's how the 2009 event was billed by producer BC/EFA: "Broadway's hottest boiz are grabbing their hard drives and the grlz are ready to play with some brand new software for what is sure to be a Broadway Bares that will fry more than your mother board. Broadway Bares 19.0 will have over 200 of Broadway's hottest dancers bringing the information superhighway to life and will surely have all of New York a-'twitter.'"

The 18th annual Broadway Bares, which was held June 22, 2008, raised $874,372 for BC/EFA. Last year's fundraiser was directed by Denis Jones.
