Theresa Rebeck, whose new play Bernhardt/Hamlet is set to begin performances at Broadway’s American Airlines Theatre August 31, will premiere her latest pilot September 7 at North Fork TV Festival, dedicated to independently produced projects, in Greenport, New York.

The 7 PM screening of The Russian Cousin will be followed by a Q&A session with Rebeck (who wrote and directed the pilot), moderated by Elisa DiStefano of News 12, and an opening night reception.

The comedy, produced by Andrew Carlberg, concerns a young Brooklynite who takes in her sultry, eccentric, and somewhat suspicious cousin as she visits from Russia. The cast includes Nikki Massoud, Caroline Parsons, Edi Gathegi, Shane Coffey, John Procaccino, and Andrea Syglowski.

Rebeck, who co-created the NBC musical Smash and served as showrunner for the first season, has also penned the plays Seminar, Mauritius, Dead Accounts, and What We’re Up Against, which made its New York City premiere last year.

Bernhardt/Hamlet, starring Janet McTeer as famed stage performer Sarah Bernhardt, will officially open September 25.
