News Broadway Dims Lights to Honor Acclaimed Songwriter Betty Comden Nov. 28 Broadway theatres will dim their lights Nov. 28 in memory of the late lyricist and librettist Betty Comden.

As is tradition, the lights of all Broadway marquees will dim for one minute at 8 PM. Comden — who with her writing partner Adolph Green created such musicals as Bells Are Ringing and On the Town — passed away Nov. 23. Among Comden's other acclaimed works are Wonderful Town, Applause, On the Twentieth Century, The Will Rogers Follies and Hallelujah, Baby!.
