The Broadway Green Alliance will sponsor an e-waste collection drive January 16 from 11 AM to 2 PM in Duffy Square (46th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway). Theatres, productions, industry professionals, and fans are all invited to participate.

BGA (in partnership with Electronic Recyclers International, Inc.), will recycle, repurpose, and properly dispose of the items.

Cell phones, copy machines, computer accessories (mice, keyboards, wires, etc.), desktop computers, DVD players, fax machines, laptops, monitors, printers, storage media, and stereo equipment will all be accepted during the drive. iPods will also be collected and donated to the Broadway Alzheimer’s iPod Project.

Hazardous waste, including household appliances, lamps or bulbs, items containing mercury, and any biohazardous materials cannot be donated. Anyone unable to drop off e-waste during the designated time can view a disposal guide on Broadway Green Alliance’s website.

The Broadway Green Alliance educates, motivates, and inspires the entire theatre community and its patrons to implement environmentally friendlier practices.
