Broadway on Broadway Will Not Be Televised This Year

News   Broadway on Broadway Will Not Be Televised This Year
Broadway on Broadway, the annual free concert that took place in Times Square on Sept. 18, will not be televised, breaking a tradition.

"The cost of producing both the live show in Times Square and the television broadcast was prohibitive this year. We look forward to bringing BOB back to television next year," said Jed Bernstein, President, League of American Theatres & Producers, Inc. and co-producer of Broadway on Broadway, in a prepared statement. Sweet Charity's Christina Applegate and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' John Lithgow co-hosted the 14th annual Broadway on Broadway. The yearly event, which is produced by The League of American Theatres and Producers and the Times Square Alliance, attracts thousands of people to the Midtown area.
