News Broadway Revival of Annie Closes Jan. 5 at the Palace Theatre The Broadway revival of Charles Strouse, Martin Charnin and Thomas Meehan's Tony Award-winning classic Annie, which opened in November 2012 at the Palace Theatre, ends its Broadway run Jan. 5

Directed by Tony Award winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, the revival opened on Broadway Nov. 8, 2012, at the Palace Theatre. It received one Tony Award nomination - Best Revival of a Musical.

Annie played 487 performances and 38 previews. A national tour will launch during the 2014-15 season.

This is Annie's second Broadway revival. Charnin directed a 1997 production starring Nell Carter as Miss Hannigan (she was even given a new song). It ran only seven months on Broadway following a limited national tour.

Annie features music by Strouse, lyrics by Charnin and a book by Meehan. The original production earned seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score for its 1977 debut starring Andrea McArdle in the title role. The production ran for 2,377 performances and has enjoyed numerous national tours.

The cast currently features Tony Award winner Faith Prince as Miss Hannigan, Ron Raines as Daddy Warbucks and Taylor Richardson as Annie. The cast also includes Brynn O'Malley as Grace Farrell, Clarke Thorell as Rooster Hannigan, and J. Elaine Marcos as Lily St. Regis.

The orphans are Sadie Sink as Duffy, Amaya Braganza as July, Gaby Bradbury as Pepper, Tyrah Skye Odoms as Tessie, Emily Rosenfeld as Molly, Brooklyn Shuck as Kate, and Skye Alyssa Friedman as standby for the roles of Duffy, Pepper, July and Tessie. The production also features Jane Blass, Mary Callanan, Jeremy Davis, Merwin Foard, Joel Hatch, Tessa Grady, Danette Holden, Fred Inkley, Amanda Lea LaVergne, Gavin Lodge, Alexandra Matteo, Keven Quillon, David Rossetti, Sarah Solie, Ryan VanDenBoom and Matt Wall.

The creative team includes scenic designer David Korins, Tony-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty, Tony-winning lighting designer Donald Holder and Tony-winning sound designer Brian Ronan. Projection design is by Wendall K. Harrington.

Music director is Todd Ellison. Orchestrations are by Michael Starobin. Dance music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire (In the Heights). Musical coordinator is Patrick Vaccariello. Hair and wig design is by Tom Watson. Animal training is by William Berloni, who was the trainer of the original production's "Sandy," and trainer of many future tours and first-class runs.
