Performances begin December 27 at the American Airlines Theatre for the new Broadway production of Sam Shepard’s True West, directed by James Macdonald. Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano star as Lee and Austin, respectively, in Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated drama about two brothers holed up in their mother's California house.

True West will officially open on Broadway January 24, 2019. Completing the cast of the Roundabout Theatre Company production are Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes.

The play debuted on Broadway in 2000 with stars John C. Reilly and Philip Seymour Hoffman swapping roles nightly. The production received four Tony Award nominations: nods to both alternating stars, director Matthew Warchus, and Best Play.

The Roundabout revival features a creative team that includes Mimi Lien (sets), Kaye Voyce (costumes), Jane Cox (lights), Bray Poor (sound design), Tom Watson (hair and wig design), and Jim Carnahan (casting).
