News Broadway Revue Make Mine Manhattan Will Resurface Off-Broadway The 1948 Broadway revue Make Mine Manhattan, which originally starred comedian Sid Caesar, will be dusted off for a limited three-week Off-Broadway run in March 2012 at the Connelly Theatre.

UnsungMusicalsCo., which has offered revised stagings of the rarely-seen musicals How Now, Dow Jones and Platinum in recent seasons, is behind the March 1-17, 2012, run of Make Mine Manhattan.

The revue has sketches and lyrics by Arnold B. Horwitt (Plain and Fancy) and music by Emmy Award winner Richard Lewine ("Cinderella," "My Name is Barbra"). It played a yearlong Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre in 1948. A national tour was later launched with Bert Lahr.

UnsungMusicals artistic director Ben West will stage the revised production, which will restore previously cut dialogue and songs, including "I Gotta Have You," "New York Gal," "Old Fashioned Girl" and "Please Take It Back."

Casting will be announced shortly.

Make Mine Manhattan is described as "a loving send-up of New York City's most infamous borough. Struggling actors, disgruntled theatre critics and hapless out-of-towners all bite the Big Apple in this sparkling entertainment." The production will have choreography by Rommy Sandhu, musical direction and arrangements by Fran Minarik, lighting design by Joe Hodge and costume design by Martin T. Lopez.
