News Broadway Show Bowling League's New Season Features Heights, Avenue Q and Spring Stars The Broadway Show Bowling League will roll on for charity throughout the 2008-2009 season.

The organization began its new year Sept. 4 at the Leisure Time Bowling Alley, located in New York City's Port Authority Bus Terminal.

League games play every Thursday evening (through Dec. 18) with actors and staff of Broadway shows competing against each other. (Games start — after most Broadway curtains — at 11:30 PM.)

Among the shows participating this season are Avenue Q, Spring Awakening, August Osage County, Grease, Gypsy, In The Heights, Mary Poppins, South Pacific, Spring Awakening, The 39 Steps and Wicked. Some of the 26 teams are composed of actors from different shows. League co-commisioner Amber Wedin proudly boasts the players "takes up the entire alley."

Proceeds from the season are donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Steve McDonald and Amber Wedin organize and operate The Broadway Show Bowling League. For more information visit broadwaybowls.com.
