Slated to air Dec. 11 at 9 PM (ET), the movie is based on the Phyllis McGinley book of the same name.
"The Year Without a Santa Claus" follows the "story about Santa Claus and a young boy who help each other believe in Christmas again," as a release states. The book also served as the source for the eponymous 1974 animated holiday classic.
Fierstein (Hairspray), Goodman (Big River), Burke (Steel Magnolias), McKean (The Pajama Game) and Kane (Wicked) appear with Chris Kattan ("Saturday Night Live"), Ethan Suplee ("My Name is Earl") and Eddie Griffin ("Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo").
Mark Wolper executive produces the comedy directed by Ron Underwood ("City Slickers," "Mighty Joe Young"). The two-hour movie is presented by the Wolper Organization in association with Warner Bros. Television.
