News Broadway Stars Sing Showtunes for Gimme A Break III Benefit in NYC, Oct. 27 Rebecca Luker (The Music Man), Marni Nixon (James Joyce's The Dead), Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray), Peter Scolari ("Bosom Buddies") and Tommy Tune (The Will Rogers Follies) will help the Transport Group present Gimme A Break III at The Culture Project at 45 Bleecker Street, Oct. 27.

Bryan Batt (Beauty and the Beast) returns to host the annual gala with Broadway stars singing the songs that launched them into the spotlight. The event will take place Oct. 27 at 7:30 PM followed by a reception. Among the stars also slated to attend are Andrea Burns (The Full Monty), Danny Burstein (A Class Act), Liz Callaway (Baby), Lewis Cleale (Swinging On A Star), Mary Bond Davis (Hairspray), comedian Ellie Devers, Jack Donahue (Floyd Collins national tour), Taina Elg (Where's Charley?), Peggy Gordon (Godspell), Jennifer Gambatese (A Year With Frog And Toad), Chester Gregory (Hairspray), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Light in the Piazza), composer Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party), Aja Maria (Hairspray), Matthew Morrison (Hairspray), Barbara Walsh (Falsettos) and more.

Proceeds from the event will go toward Transport Group's upcoming production of the new Leslie Becker and Michael Hunsaker musical Fetching Water slated for April 2004.
