The July 4 NBC broadcast, "Macy's 4th of July Spectacular," will include the pre-recorded tune "The Dreams in You," which features a host of Broadway stars.

Written by Jason Rowland, Kim Scharnberg, Jack Murphy, Dani Davis and Belinda Lams, "The Dreams in You" was written in response to the tragedies of Sept. 11. Those who lent their voices to the recording of the spirit-raising song include Kate Burton, Gavin Creel, Liz Callaway, Rob Evan, Hunter Foster, Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brad Oscar, Adam Pascal, Emily Skinner and Patrick Wilson. The tune is just one of several that will be featured during the amazing fireworks display that concludes the 90-minute special.

"West Wing" star Rob Lowe hosts the annual televised event, which boasts live performances from Ray Charles, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, James Taylor as well as appearances from Harrison Ford, Rudolph Giuliani, Sigourney Weaver and Mike Myers. A tribute in lights to the victims of Sept. 11 will also be offered.

The fireworks display — set to such patriotic favorites as "Stars and Stripes Forever," "Fanfare for the Common Man," "American Salute" and "The Star-Spangled Banner" — will boast in excess of 20,000 pyrotechnic shells, fired from five barges in New York City's East River.

The entire production will be broadcast live on NBC-TV from 9 to 10:30 PM. —By Andrew Gans
