News Broadway Stars Wear Bow Ties in Honor of High School Student The death of theatre major Parker Leikam has sparked a social media campaign among the Broadway community in his memory.

The stars of Tuck Everlasting, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Lion King, Shuffle Along and An American in Paris have taken to Instagram to share photos of themselves in bow ties in honor of Parker Leikam. The high school senior and theatre major from Adams County, NY, died tragically in a car accident last month.

Benjamin Cook, whose family knew Leikam and is in the ensemble for Tuck Everlasting, was one of the first to post a photo on Instagram.

The posts, tagged with #bowtiesforparkeronbroadway, are in honor of the young man. By tagging #EllenforParker, his friends and family are hoping that Ellen DeGeneres will also don a bow tie in his memory.
