The Broadway Theatre Institute will present their annual Awards for Excellence in Theatre at the Times Square Visitors Center (1560 Broadway) on May 10. The ceremony will be hosted by Broadway's current Captain Hook, Paul Schoeffler.
Among the awards being presented will be:
€ Academy Award-winning actress Celeste Holm will be honored for her Distinguished Contribution to the Theatre.
€ Theatre historian Robert Kimball and the George Mason University WPA Oral History Project will be honored for Excellence in Theatre History Preservation.
€ The American Theatre Wing will be recognized for Theatre Arts in Education, and attorney Mortimer Becker will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Broadway Theater Institute (BTI) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and perpetuating the heritage and legacy of live theatre on Broadway.
