News Broadway Theatres Dim Marquee Lights Sept. 26 in Honor of Actors' Equity Exec Patrick Quinn Broadway theatrrs will dim their lights Sept. 26 in honor of the passing of Actors' Equity Association executive director Patrick Quinn.

As is tradition, the lights of all Broadway marquees will dim for one minute at 8 PM. The newly appointed head of the union died Sept. 24. "We were deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our friend and colleague, Patrick Quinn, Executive Director of Actors' Equity Association," commented The League of American Theatres and Producers executive director Charlotte St. Martin. "He was regarded as a committed and passionate leader, with an extraordinary devotion to Broadway. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and loved ones, and to the vast community of actors whose lives he touched."

Quinn was to have succeeded the departing Alan Eisenberg, effective Oct. 5. A founding member of Equity Fights AIDS, he has served as the second vice president since 1993 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
