Clive Barnes

In a statement Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, said, "A true lover of the arts, Clive Barnes wrote his way into our hearts and popular culture. The Broadway community will miss his great style and talent." As a writer, Mr. Barnes was known for an erudite, breezy and at times playfully sassy style. Col Allan, editor-in-chief of the New York Post, said in a statement, "Clive Barnes was a genuine legend. For 30 years as a critic for the New York Post he wrote with honesty and a delightful whimsy. Clive's colleagues and the readers he served for so long are impoverished by his passing."
