Broadway USA will conclude its stage reading series April 12 with a presentation of the new musical Democracy. By librettist Joe Sutton and composer and lyricist Lewis Flinn, Democracy is set in the 1940, and tells the story of a Lyndon Johnson-like politician named Arlen Seawright who has ambitions to become president. The performance is at 7 PM.

The trio of works staged in this series -- Actor, Lawyer, Indian Chief , Chang & Eng and Democracy -- were selected by director and choreographer Patricia Birch, who is serving as Broadway USA's guest artistic director. Birch did the choreography for Parade and staged the recent Broadway show Band in Berlin.

All performances take place at St. Luke's Church, 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. For information, call (212) 664-0979.
