BroadwayCon has just revealed a new slate of productions that will be previewed as part of the January 29 BroadwayCon First Look presentation, which features musical performances and in-depth discussions with the casts and creative teams from the upcoming Broadway spring season.
New to the lineup are the musicals Amélie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as the revivals of Miss Saigon and Sunday in the Park with George.
Also added is a first-look at the film adaptation of the Michael John LaChiusa musical Hello Again, as well as the new plays Indecent and The Play That Goes Wrong.
Here’s the full breakdown of what fans can expect:
Amélie: A musical number performed by the cast, who will be joined by members of the creative team.
Anastasia: A performance from the show’s co-stars Christy Altomare (Anya) and Derek Klena (Dmitry).
Bandstand: A world-premiere song performed by the show’s co-stars Laura Osnes and Corey Cott, who will be introduced by Tony-winning director-choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: A video message from Tony winner Christian Borle (Willy Wonka) and director Jack O’Brien.
Come From Away: A musical performance from cast member Jenn Colella.
Hello Again: An exclusive first look at a scene from the movie adaptation of the musical by LaChiusa that stars Audra McDonald, Martha Plimpton, Cheyenne Jackson, T. R. Knight, Rumer Willis, and Jenna Ushkowitz.
Indecent: A presentation by playwright Paula Vogel.
Miss Saigon: A song performance by co-stars Eva Noblezada (Kim) and Alistair Brammer (Chris).
Significant Other: A presentation by director Trip Cullman, playwright Joshua Harmon, and cast members Gideon Glick, Lindsay Mendez, Barbara Barrie, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Sas Goldberg, Jon Behlmann, and Luke Smith.
Sunday in the Park with George: A presentation from Tony-nominated composer-lyricist and recent Encores! Off-Center artistic director Jeanine Tesori.
The Play That Goes Wrong: A video message from the London cast.
