The musical about the pop songwriter gives a single performance at 7 PM (audience admitted starting at 6 PM) on a special stage for the Summerstage series set up in the park at Rumsey Playfield, toward the east side of the Park around 71st Sreet.
A production spokesperson said they’ll perform "most (if not all) of the songs, but not dialogue and not in the order of the show." The concert will not take the place of a regular Broadway performance. The show will play its normal schedule at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre this week.
The performance reportedly marks the first time a currently-running Broadway musical will perform as part of the SummerStage festival.
