The Lil' Bravest was started by a group of firefighters from Engine 84 and Ladder 34 in honor of two of their "brothers," Rory O'flaherty and John "Sully" Sullivan, who they lost in 2010. The organization's goal is to improve the quality of life for children who are hospitalized or being treated for childhood diseases.
A limited number of underwritten orchestra seats are available at $80 via the Lil' Bravest Inc. To purchase tickets, contact Captain Bill Toelstedt at (917) 584-5270 or at [email protected].
Chaplin features music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan and Curtis. The musical opened on Broadway Sept. 10, following previews that began Aug. 21, at the Barrymore Theatre.
Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, the musical stars Rob McClure in the title role with Jim Borstelmann (Alf Reeves), Jenn Colella (Hedda Hopper), Ethan Khusidman, Erin Mackey (Oona O’Neill), Michael McCormick (Sennett, McGranery, Emcee), Christiane Noll (Hannah Chaplin), Zachary Unger (Young Charlie, Jackie) and Wayne Alan Wilcox (Sydney Chaplin).
Here's how producers bill the musical: "From the slums of London to the heights of Hollywood, Chaplin is the showbiz Broadway musical about the silent film legend the world couldn’t stop talking about — Charlie Chaplin. The brand new 24-person musical reveals the man behind the legend, the undeniable genius that forever changed the way America went to the movies."
