There's gold in them thar physicists!
Copenhagen, the 2000 Tony winner for Best Play, has recouped its $1.5 million investment, less than three months after its April 11 opening on Broadway. The Michael Frayn drama, about the possible outcome of a true 1941 meeting between two famed physicists, one Danish (and with the Allies) and one German (Axis) stars Philip Bosco, Blair Brown and Michael Cumpsty. Michael Blakemore directed.
Copenhagen follows Dame Edna, as one of the few shows this season to show a profit. The revival of True West also recently declared that it has recouped its money.
Copenhagen is produced on Broadway by James M. Nederlander, Roger Berlind, Scott Rudin, Elizabeth I. McCann, Ray Larsen, Jon B. Platt, Byron Goldman and Scott Nederlander.
