Henderson, recently of Manhattan Theatre Club's Drowning Crow, replaces Hinton Battle in rehearsals that lead toward a July 19 first preview at the Belasco Theatre. Battle exited the project by mutual agreement with the creative team.

Opening is Aug. 16. Des McAnuff stages the new musical based on the gothic thriller about the titular European vampire (played by Tom Hewitt).

Henderson has starred in the Broadway productions of August Wilson's King Hedley II and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and Off-Broadway in Jitney (also for the National Theatre in England). He can be seen in the HBO film "Everyday People."

Dracula, The Musical features book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, and music by Frank Wildhorn. Choreography is by Mindy Cooper.
