The Casting Society of America’s 2019 Artios Awards, which celebrate casting directors for film, TV, and theatre, were presented in bicoastal ceremonies January 31 in New York City and Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles event was hosted by June Diane Raphael and SAG-Award winning actor Paul Scheer, and the NY event was hosted by Bridget Everett.

New York theatre winners included Jim Carnahan, who won for casting both Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (New York Broadway Theatre – Comedy Or Drama), as well as last season's acclaimed Broadway revival of Angels in America (New York Broadway Theatre – Revival, Comedy Or Drama).

Artios Awards also went to Bethany Knox for casting the hit musical comedy Mean Girls (New York Broadway Theatre – Musical); Craig Burns for Once On This Island (New York Broadway Theatre – Revival, Musical); Adam Caldwell, Will Cantler, and Karyn Casl for School Girls: Or, The African Mean Girls Play (New York Theatre – Comedy Or Musical); and David Caparelliotis and Lauren Port for Jesus Hopped the A Train (New York Theatre – Drama).

Film and television honors were awarded to Bernard Telsey and Patrick Goodwin for Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert (Live Television Performance, Variety Or Sketch Comedy), as well as Jeanie Bacharach, Cindy Tolan, Anne Davison, and Betsy Fippinger for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Television Pilot and First Season – Comedy), which features numerous theatre actors.

This year’s honorees in New York included Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond, who received the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award for outstanding commitment to New York entertainment. Los Angeles honorees included Laura Dern, who received the Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement; as well as Robert J. Ulrich, Eric Dawson, and Carol Kritzer, who received the Hoyt Bowers Award.
