Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced October 21 that Killian Donnelly (London's Memphis, The Commitments, Billy Elliot, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables) will join the Broadway company of Kinky Boots in the role of Charlie Price beginning December 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Donnelly, a 2016 Olivier Award nominee for his portrayal of Charlie in the London production of Kinky Boots, will succeed Aaron C. Finley in the show.

“We’re so thrilled to have Killian joining us on Broadway,” producers Roth and Luftig said in a joint statement. “His performance as Charlie in the original London production of Kinky Boots was fantastic, and we can’t wait for audiences on this side of the pond to fall in love with him like we did.”

Kinky Boots opened on Broadway in April 2013 and will celebrate 1,500 performances next month. On November 1, the show welcomes its new Lola: YouTube star Todrick Hall.

The musical, according to press notes, “tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family’s struggling shoe factory and looking for a fresh idea. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, they discover that it takes a good friend to make a great pair.”
