The offer coincides with a period when New York City subways are not fully operational and automobile traffic may be snarled due to bridge and tunnel issues. The thinking on the part of producers both on and Off-Broadway is that theatergoers need extra incentive to go make it to the theatre in this wearying week.

The Nice Work special "post-hurricane rush ticket offer" allows residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and other states to attend performances on Wednesday, Oct. 31, Thursday, Nov. 1, and Friday, Nov. 2, at the price of $37 each (two tickets per person, subject to availability) when showing ID from their home state at the Imperial Theatre box office, starting the morning of those performances.

Residents of Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina may also seek the discount.

Nice Work If You Can Get It, which has a script by Joe DiPietro and a score by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, stars Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara.

The production is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.

Imperial Theatre is at 249 W. 45th Street. Regular ticket prices range $46.50-$136.50.
