News Broadway's Original Gigi to Star in Fringe's Burning Botticcelli Karin Wolfe, who starred as Gigi in the 1973 Broadway musical of the same name, will be part of the cast of Burning Botticcelli at the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival.

Dennis Schebetta’s new drama will play the Fringe Festival Aug. 13-28 at the Linhart Theatre at 440 Studios. Directed by Scott C. Embler, the company will also include Todd Butera, Scott Evans, Joe Hickey, Timothy Huang, G.R. Johnson, Timur Kocak, Matthew Morgan, Mizuo Peck, Raum-Aron, Kathryn Savannah and Bill Tangradi. According to a production statement, Burning Botticelli "interweaves three worlds — the mythical Navajo world in the Arizona desert, the classical Renaissance world in Florence, and the post-modern art world in contemporary New York — and explores the identities of three artists as they grapple with their public and the force of their own inspiration." Playwright Schebetta's other plays include Love’s Labours Won or Benvolio Is Alive and Well and Living in the Bahamas and Love and Death.

The creative team for the new drama comprises Julia Hahn (set design), Jessica Jahn (costume design), Tracy Klainer (lighting design) and Will Ditterline (puppet design).

Burning Botticelli will play Aug. 13 at 5 PM, Aug. 23 at 3 PM, Aug. 26 at 9 PM, Aug. 27 at 7:15 PM and Aug. 28 at noon.
