News Broadway's Peter Gallagher Sings on Fox's "The O.C."; Song Available on iTunes Broadway star Peter Gallagher will offer television audiences Jan. 13 a sample of his singing voice as he performs "Don't Give Up on Me" on the Fox series "The O.C."

Gallagher portrays patriarch Sandy Cohen on the drama set in the titular California beach locale which airs Thursdays at 8 PM (ET). Check your local listings.

In the episode titled "The Power of Love," Cohen (Gallagher) sings the Solomon Burke song as a dedication to his wife Kirsten (played by actress Kelly Rowan) for their 20th anniversary. Sometime stage actor Tate Donovan (Lobby Hero, Picnic) is also a regular on the drama.

The Gallagher rendition of "Don't Give Up on Me" is available to Apple iTunes listeners through their players or in a video clip on the Fox "O.C." website at www.fox.com/oc. The actor is also one of this week's iTunes' featured "Celebrity Playlists" — among his 15 selected choices are, as he puts it, a lot of different styles and different generations." Featured songs include Dean Martin's "Everybody Loves Somebody," Stevie Wonder's "Golden Lady," The Who's "Baba O'Riley," Ella Fitzgerald's "Mack the Knife," Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" and Frank Sinatra's "One for My Baby (And One More for the Road)."

Gallagher has appeared on Broadway in the Grease, The Corn Is Green, The Real Thing and the revivals of Noises Off, Guys and Dolls and Long Day's Journey Into Night — earning a Tony Award nomination for the latter production in 1986. He also appeared in the benefit concert of Funny Girl and Off-Broadway in The Exonerated. His film credits include "Sex, Lies, and Videotape," "While You Were Sleeping," "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday," "American Beauty" and "Center Stage."
