News   Broadway's School of Rock Sets Box-Office Record for Winter Garden
School of Rock — The Musical, which opened on Broadway Dec. 6, has set a house record for box-office receipts at the venerable Winter Garden Theatre.

The production grossed $1,506,236.20 with houses at 101.8% capacity for the week ending Dec. 27, an all-time house record at the Winter Garden, previously set by Mamma Mia! with $1.26 million in early January 2009. Both figures are for eight-performance weeks.

School of Rock — The Musical features music from the 2003 movie "School of Rock," plus an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater. The book is by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.

The cast is headed by Alex Brightman and Sierra Boggess.

The musical has choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Mick Potter, music supervision by Ethan Popp and hair design by Josh Marquette.

School of Rock — The Musical is produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as executive producers.
