Broadway star Shoshana Bean is planning a California concert April 14 to celebrate the release of her new single, “One Way to Go.”
Her special guest for the concert will be Empire star and Dancing With the Stars winner Rumer Willis, recently seen on Broadway in Chicago..
Bean, who made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Hairspray and was the first replacement for Idina Menzel as Elphaba in Wicked, will appear (with special guests to be announced) 8:30 PM April 14 at the jazz club at Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. Bean told Playbill that the single, now available on iTunes, is part of a full-length album she is preparing over the next few months.

Bean co-starred in the 2015 Chicago production of the Broadway-aimed new musical Beaches, for which she earned a Jeff Award Nomination as best lead actress in a musical. In her pop career, she has toured with Postmodern Jukebox, performed alongside Brian McKnight and Bebe Winans, and sang backup for Michael Jackson in his 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden.
Her next New York appearance is scheduled for April 2 at Feinstein’s/54 Below as part of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music’s salute to the songwriting team of Ahrens & Flaherty. Bean is set to perform “Mama Will Provide” from Once on This Island.
