Broadway's Stephen Oremus and Lady Gaga Reuniting for Oscars Musical Moment | Playbill

News Broadway's Stephen Oremus and Lady Gaga Reuniting for Oscars Musical Moment Lady Gaga and Stephen Oremus are reuniting for the Oscars after scoring big with last year’s Sound of Music tribute.

Lady Gaga is slated to perform her Oscar-nominated song (co-written with Grammy winner Diane Warren) "Til It Happens to You" on the forthcoming Academy Awards telecast. Released last September, the song is from the documentary film "The Hunting Ground," which exposes the issues of campus rape at colleges across the U.S.

Oremus, the Tony and Grammy-winning Broadway music director and orchestrator of Book of Mormon, Kinky Boots and the upcoming Frozen, wrote the orchestral arrangement for the pop song that Gaga will perform during the Feb. 28 awards broadcast.

Oremus, who was the music director for last year's Academy Awards, worked with Lady Gaga to conceive the buzzed-about Sound of Music medley that even impressed the film's star, Julie Andrews.
