The final performance is 7 PM Feb. 9, an earlier-than-usual curtain time, at the Walter Kerr Theatre at 219 W. 48th St. By close, The Heiress will have played 27 previews and 117 regular performances.

Written by Ruth & Augustus Goetz, The Heiress is directed by Tony Award-nominated playwright and director Moisés Kaufman and stars Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain ("The Help," "Zero Dark Thirty") as Catherine Sloper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner David Strathairn as Dr. Austin Sloper, "Downton Abbey" star Dan Stevens as Morris Townsend and Tony Award winner Judith Ivey as Lavinia Penniman. The staging also features Molly Camp, Kieran Campion, Virginia Kull, Mairin Lee, Ben Livingston, Dee Nelson and Caitlin O'Connell.

The play, inspired by the Henry James novel "Washington Square," is the tale of Catherine Sloper (Chastain), the shy and sheltered daughter of a prominent New Yorker mid-19th-century New York City. "Caught between the demands of an emotionally distant father (Strathairn) and the attentions of a passionate young suitor (Stevens), Catherine must navigate the terrain of love and regret, desire and duty, a chance for happiness and the burden of fortune…as only an heiress can," according to the producers.
