Broadway's Wicked to Welcome Return of Former Glinda | Playbill

News Broadway's Wicked to Welcome Return of Former Glinda Kara Lindsay returns to the cast next month.
Kara Lindsay, seen as Katherine in the original Broadway cast of Newsies, will return to the role of Glinda in the Broadway production of Wicked beginning November 1 at the Gershwin Theatre. Lindsay will succeed Carrie St. Louis, who will play her final performance October 30.

Lindsay previously performed the role of Glinda in the 2015 Broadway company as well as the national tour of Wicked.

As previously reported, Sheryl Lee Ralph will assume the role of Madame Morrible in Broadway's Wicked November 1; she follows two-time Tony winner Judy Kaye, who currently plays the role. The Broadway company also features Jennifer DiNoia as Elphaba, Michael Campayno as Fiyero, Peter Scolari as The Wizard, Dawn E. Cantwell as Nessarose, Michael Genet as Dr. Dillamond, and Zachary Noah Piser as Boq.

Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Wicked, according to press notes, "looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one 'good,' and the other one 'wicked.'"
