News   Brooklyn Company Stages Urinetown in Williamsburg Bar Tonight

The Brooklyn Theatre Club presents a staged reading of Urinetown, The Musical at Muchmore's, a bar and music venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Audience members are invited to join the performance in ensemble and smaller roles.

Performances are April 1 and 8.

Urinetown, The Musical played on Broadway in 2001; it features music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis. The show is a satire set in a world where a depletion in the earth's water supply has led to a ban on private toilets, making the basic human need to use the toilet, a privilege to be paid for.

The Brooklyn Theatre Club is a Brooklyn-based artist collective. Their mission is to present staged readings of musicals involving audience members in the performances.

Muchmore's is located at 2 Havemeyer St., Brooklyn. For more information visit brooklyntheatreclub.com.
