News Brooklyn Play Asks What's That on My Head!?! for Three More Weeks, Until Feb. 29 Was it the stately name of the theatre company or the long, silly title that attracted audiences?

Whatever it was, What's That on My Head!?!, The latest work from Off-Off-Broadway's The National Theater of the United States of America has extended its run three weeks, until Feb. 29. The show began performances Jan. 8 at the Nest Arts Complex, at 88 Front Street, in the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO. NTUSA has gained a cult following with such past shows as Placebo Sunrise and Garvey & Superpants$!: Episode 23. The new attraction is described thusly: "What's That on My Head!?! refracts the history of America through the lens of a trans-temporal game show... [and] tracks three contestants as they navigate their way through a new world of ancient celebrities, future historical figures, and a terrible monster. Emceeing the show are an intergalactic host and his immortal sidekick, Armitage Shanks. What's That on My Head!?! explores multiple visions of the American Dream, and the culture's dual tendencies towards complacency and revolt." According to reviews, audience members are seated in chairs bolted to a moving platform, which the actors push from here to there.

The piece was created and is performed by NTUSA members, including Ryan Bronz, Mark Doskow, Yehuda Duenyas, Jesse Hawley, Jonathan Jacobs, Normandy Sherwood, James Stanley, Matt Kalman, Aimee McCormick, George Nobl, Sophie Amieva, Gina E. Cline and Young Jean Lee.
