As reported in the New York Post, Julian Schlossberg intends to produce the next Bruce Jay Friedman play, Lawrence Of America, Off Broadway, fall 1998. Schlossberg told Playbill On-Line (Nov. 19) "It's about a fellow growing up in the 1950s in America, which I can relate to very much. I love the title, and the show's very funny, but like most of Bruce's work it also has poignancy."
Schlossberg also told Playbill On-Line he's been a fan of Friedman's work for years. "I loved Steambath and Scuba Duba and The Heartbreak Kid.
Neither a cast, director nor theatre has been selected yet for the comedy.
