News Bruce Kimmel's Brain From Planet X Musical to World Premiere in December Bruce Kimmel, the record producer who recently launched the Kritzerland label, has penned a new musical entitled The Brain From Planet X.

Featuring a score by Kimmel and a book by Kimmel and David Wechter — who also provided additional music and lyrics — The Brain From Planet X will make its world premiere in December at the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy's Camino Theatre. Kimmel will direct the limited engagement, which is set for Dec. 8, 9 and 13-16. The Brain From Planet X, according to press notes, is a "spoof of the 1950s outer-space alien film craze." No casting has been announced.

The LACCTA season will also include Theatre of Operations (Oct. 6, 7 and 11-14), which features the one-acts The Sand Storm: Stories from the Front (by Sean Huze) and Necessary Targets (by Eve Ensler); and Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel (Nov. 3, 4 and 8-11).

Los Angeles City College is located at 855 N. Vermont Avenue in Hollywood, CA. For tickets call (323) 664-2787. Visit www.lacitycollege.edu for more information.
