Batt, who was most recently on Broadway in the revival of La Cage aux Folles, will play the intimate cabaret Feb. 4 and 7 at 9:30 PM. The evenings will feature musical direction by Michael Lavine. His cabaret evening was originally conceived as a fundraiser for the New Orleans cabaret Le Chat Noir. Live @ the Met!, according to press notes, will feature "a clever mix of Broadway and popular ballads and comic turns both familiar and entertainingly obscure. Be prepared for some serious fun with his theatrical/humorous take on the world and stories of his life . . . half fast lived!"
Bryan Batt's additional theatre credits include Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast; Monty, the disco DJ, in Saturday Night Fever; the Cat in the Hat in Seussical the Musical; Sir Percy in Frank Wildhorn's The Scarlet Pimpernel; as well as principal roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Starlight Express and Cats. The actor-singer-dancer also played Joe Gillis opposite Betty Buckley's Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and has appeared Off-Broadway in Forbidden Broadway and Jeffrey. Batt has also been busy raising funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
