News Buckley, Feinstein & Mason To Fill Next Carnegie Season With Song "Practice. Practice. Practice."

"Practice. Practice. Practice."

After "To get to the other side," it's the oldest punchline in the book, but its meaning is well taken: the best way to get to Carnegie Hall is pay your dues and learn your craft. Several cabaret and Broadway stars will appear with The New York Pops next season, all of whom have proved their mettle and talent time and again.

Oct. 24 will bring the Pops season opener with singer/actress Maureen McGovern (Polly in Broadway's 1989 Threepenny Opera). Soprano Jeanne Lehman and baritone Keith Butterbaugh will offer an evening of the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Nov. 7. Michael Feinstein fans will want to catch his Oct. 28 show; Rosemary Clooney devotees can catch her Feb. 11, 1998.

Cabaret mainstay and occasional Norma Desmond, Karen Mason, will sing "The Broadway Songbook," March 20, 1998. And Playbill On-Line favorite Betty Buckley (Sunset Boulevard, Cats) takes the Pops stage May 8, 1998.
