The annual Tony Awards Nominees Brunch, at Sardi's theatrical restaurant in New York May 13, will feature an array of Broadway stars, both British and American, from plays and musicals.
The event is not open to the public. Playbill On-Line has arranged to attend, and will post an account, with photos.
Among the artists scheduled to drink and dine are nominated actors Natasha Richardson (Cabaret), John Leguizamo (Freak), Anthony LaPaglia (A View From the Bridge), Linda Lavin (The Diary of Anne Frank), Betty Buckley (Triumph of Love), Jane Alexander (Honour), Audra McDonald (Ragtime), Alan Cumming (Cabaret), Brian Stokes Mitchell (Ragtime), Alfred Molina (Art), John McMartin (High Society), Ron Rifkin (Cabaret), playwright Terrence McNally (the book for Ragtime), and, in perhaps the most surprising appearance, Capeman composer Paul Simon.
The event will commence at 11:30 AM at Sardi's Eugenia Room. The Tonys will be announced on June 7 in a ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.
