News Burke Moses Is a Beast in Theater of the Stars' Beauty Jan. 8-16, 2005 Burke Moses, the original Gaston in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast, will don fur and horns to play the Beast in Theater of the Stars' resident staging of the Disney musical in Atlanta.

Moses' agent confirmed he will be playing opposite the already-announced Christy Carlson Romano, who reprises the role of Belle, which she played on Broadway February-September 2004. The TOTS staging at the Fox Theatre runs Jan. 8-16. 2005.

Moses is heard on the original Broadway cast album of Beauty, playing swaggering villain Gaston. The actor's credits also include Encores! concerts of Li'l Abner (title role) and The New Moon (concert cast album), and Broadway's The Frogs and Kiss Me, Kate.

Romano is known for TV's "Kim Possible" and "Even Stevens." In 2003 she completed her freshman year at Columbia University's Barnard College where she is majoring in political science with an emphasis on human rights.

She played Mary Phagan in Hal Prince's production of Parade at Lincoln Center. She made her stage debut at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Theater of the Stars' 1991 production of Annie, as the youngest orphan, Molly.

The Theater of the Stars production of Beauty and the Beast in Atlanta will be directed by Drew Scott Harris and choreographed by Norb Joerder.

The Atlanta company of Beauty and the Beast will be made up of resident and national talent.
