News Burn the Floor to Shutter at West End's Shaftesbury Theatre June 30 Burn the Floor, the international ballroom dance show, is to shutter at the West End's Shaftesbury Theatre June 30. It was originally booking through Sept. 1, 2013, having begun performances there March 6 prior to an official opening March 11.

In a press statement, the producers have said that it will now finish its run after its stars Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihanoff complete their limited run in the production: "We are delighted to have brought Burn The Floor to London and it has been wonderful to see audiences receive our fantastic company with such enthusiasm, and joy. Having constantly played around the World for the past fourteen years, we now look forward to many further successful touring productions."

Windsor and Rihanoff are best known for their appearances on TV's "Strictly Come Dancing."

They are joined by Karen Hauer, who was a principal dancer in Burn the Floor throughout 2010 and 2011, and partnered Nicky Byrne on the last series of "Strictly Come Dancing."

According to press materials, the show takes audiences on a journey from Harlem's hot nights at The Savoy, where dances such as the Lindy, Foxtrot and Charleston were born, to the Latin Quarter where the Cha-Cha, Rumba and Salsa steamed up the stage, incorporating those forms as well as tango, Samba, Mambo, Quickstep, and Swing.

The show's artistic director and choreographer is Jason Gilkison, a former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer. Burn the Floor is produced by The Theatre of Comedy and Harley Medcalf. To book tickets, contact the box office on 020 7379 5399 or visit www.burnthefloor.com for more details.
