News Burning a Little Slower: Burning Blue Delays Off-B'way Debut Burning Blue will begin burning a bit later than originally expected. D.M.W. Greer's take on the "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" military policy, originally scheduled to begin previews Sept. 29, will now begin performances Oct. 1 at the Samuel Beckett Theatre. The official opening remains the same — Oct. 16 — and the limited engagement ends its run Dec. 15.

The official opening remains the same — Oct. 16 — and the limited engagement ends its run Dec. 15.

Emmy-winner Chad Lowe heads the company, which also includes Jerome Preston Bates, P.J. Brown, Bill Dawes, Matthew Del Negro, Mike Doyle, Sherri Parker Lee and Brette Taylor. John Hickock will direct. The remainder of the creative team comprises Beowulf Boritt (sets and costumes), Phil Widmer (lighting) and John Hickok (sound design).

The Samuel Beckett Theatre is located in New York City at 410 West 42nd Street. Tickets, priced at $49.50, are available through Ticket Central by calling (212) 279-4200. The show will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM with matinees on Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 5 PM.

* Lowe was most recently seen in the Richard Gere film "Unfaithful." His other screen credits include "Take Me Home: The John Denver Story," "Now and Again," "ER" and "Popular." As a director, Lowe helmed the short film "The Audition" and the recently completed "The Space Between"; both feature his Oscar-winning wife, Hillary Swank.

Burning Blue debuted in London in 1995 and subsequently played Los Angeles in 1998. A reading of the drama for 225 people was held at Off Broadway's Westside Theatre in January 1999.
